The last of this academic year’s Legacies of War seminar talk is dedicated to the rehabilitation of wounded Australian soldiers and the work of the Australian Army Medical Corps at 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield Park, during the First World War.

Dr Alexia Moncrieff is Research Fellow on the ERC-funded Men, Women & Care project, led by Dr Jessica Meyer, at the University of Leeds. Her primary interest is in the history of medicine in war and the structures that improve and impede access to care. More specifically she is interested in rehabilitation for sick and wounded soldiers and attempts to curtail the spread of venereal disease in war.
